Meet Capt. Caleb Danladi

Capt. Caleb Danladi is a Nigerian born on 14th July 1982 in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria. He held from Daddu, Jaba LGA of Kaduna State. He is a committed and proactive Marine Professional with over 15 years of diverse professional experience.

Capt. Caleb Danladi is among the few Nigeria Maritime expert and a Master Mariner who distinguished himself and competed favorably with others anywhere in the world. For fifteen years, he has been actively involved in the operations, management, and execution of maritime projects, including Navigation, Cargo Operations, Maritime Pilotage, LNG Shipping, and offshore operations in Oil and Gas. In addition, Capt. Danladi has managed many major marine operations-related projects ranging from dry docking of ships to ship management and developing ship operations concept plans.

 

As a marine professional, he has provided effective leadership, operations, and commercial expertise onboard and ashore. In addition, he has been involved in the operations and management of ships and has coordinated and delivered projects in LNG Ship management and marine environment.

Capt. Danladi is a Master Mariner, a Chartered Shipbroker of the Institute of Chartered Ship Broker, an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute and UK Higher Education Academy, and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK.

Capt. Danladi graduated from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom, with a degree in Maritime Studies in 2011. In addition, he obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth in 2012 and a master’s degree of Science in Maritime Studies from the University of Portsmouth in 2012.

Capt. Danladi Couldn’t have made the remarks without a solid educational foundation. He started his Education at LEA Primary School Samban Gida, Jaba LGA of Kaduna State. He attended Baptist High School Kwoi between 1994 and 2000 and obtained a National Diploma in Nautical Science from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria Oron.

Capt. Danladi was admitted to Southampton Solent University in 2006 and graduated with a foundation in Marine Operations in 2009.

Capt. Danladi worked with Nigeria LNG Ship Management Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nigeria LNG Limited, in various positions, including third, second, and chief navigation, before Joining Nigeria LNG Limited Capt. Danladi served with Shell Ship’s Management Limited (SSML) between 2009 and 2010.

In 2016 Capt. Danladi returned ashore and worked as Assistant Marine Operations Superintendent from 2016 until 2018. Capt. Danladi was appointed as Designated Person Ashore (DPA)/Company Security Officer/HSEQ Manager (Designate) in 2018.

Capt. Danladi joined Chevron Nigeria Limited in 2018 as an Offshore Marine Terminal Pilot/ Mooring Master providing expertise in marine and offshore operations. Capt. Danladi is currently the Founder of Caleb Danladi Foundation, a Non-governmental organization reaching out to widows, orphans, and the most vulnerable members of society.

He has served as a member of several committees. In addition, he belongs to several professional institutions, including the Institute of chartered ship broker, the Institute of occupational safety and health, the British Academy of Management, the International Association of Maritime Economics, the Institute of marine engineers, science and technology, Nautical Institute, UK Higher Education Academy among other. Furthermore, Capt. Danladi has served as a board member for the following organizations: Fuham Marine and Offshore Services Limited, Fuham Integrated Farms Limited, Fuham Global Engineering Services Limited, and Hope Builders Foundation.

Capt. Danladi’s expertise includes Maritime pilotage, ship management, port management, data analytics, ships inspection and Survey and terminal management, HSSEQ, risk management, benchmarking, and efficiency analysis.

Capt. Danladi is a Ph.D. researcher at the University of Plymouth. With his rich knowledge in his chosen career, as someone willing to garner more understanding and impart the same to others, Capt. Danladi has attended several conferences and has presented academic papers.

Capt. Danladi is proficient in using performance improvement tools (Data Envelopment Analysis, Malmquist productivity Index), power point, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and SAP.

Capt. Danladi has received several awards in recognition and appreciation towards Nation building, human transformation, and service to humanity. Among these include the Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum leadership award, the NANS award, and CAN Women wing Award, among others.

He is happily married to Esther Danladi and blesses with a Son.
